This is a must-do Kalbarri experience. You see so much more from the air, and our flight offers dramatic perspective and a true impression of the Gorges’ immense scope and scale.
In addition, unless you are extremely fit and ready for long climbing walks, you will not get a real grasp of the Gorges from the ground. The lookouts only cover a very small potion of the gorges, and miss many of the highlights.
After takeoff, we head out towards the rugged and breathtaking Kalbarri National Park past Ross Graham lookout and then along the full length of the Murchison River Gorges.
The river has cut through the sandstone, allowing you to view steep rock faces with stunning white, red and purple rock layers as you pass close by. Many of these amazing wonders of Nature are inaccessible, and un-viewable, except by air.
After overpassing Hawkeshead, Little Z Bend, Big Z Bend, the Four Ways (an interesting formation of the river going one way and then two large cuts coming in from both directions). We overfly the loop taking in scenery from a totally different perspective. From the loop with overfly Murchison house station on our way to Kalbarri township which we overfly following the river to the river mouth then along the coastal cliffs, passing the cliffs as described in our Coastal Cliffs tour before returning to Kalbarri airport.
With an average flight time of 40 minutes, this represents one of our most exciting and best value aerial adventures – an absolute must if you wish to appreciate the full, dramatic splendour and scale of the River Gorges.
A flight over the Pink Lake can be added to this tour - please enquire for pricing.
